Well, well, well… don’t we have an exceptionally good looking family on our hands…on Crane Beach in Ipswich…in perfect light… on a gorgeous day in July. Tough gig, kids. Someone’s gotta do this stuff.
So, K, G, and G have more love than they could wish for which came in handy earlier this year when some serious tragedy hit their family. In short, as K puts it to her boys, they have a loving family of four, Mommy is here and Daddy is in heaven. The rest doesn’t really matter, does it? Here it is: a loving family. They take all sorts of shapes, don’t they.
Enjoy. Love. Thank you. Breathe.
Do you remember your first girl crush? I do. It was Lauren Healy. Pretty sure that crush is still going strong, too. I’d be even kindof embarrassed to write that, but I’ve told her how I feel for the past 20 years so she’s gotta be numb to it by now.
I have really good taste: Lauren is, and always has been, extremely kind and gentle, loving and hilarious, talented, humble, and gorgeous. There are truly few people in my life I adore quite to the level I love Lauren. She’s also the genius behind both the T.Spoon logo and branding and the Hitched Studios logo and branding. She lives in Atlanta with her wonderful family and I was *extremely* excited to know that she wanted to do a trade with me for our last round of logos (coming soon. :)).
She has an older sister, Dana, who just so happens to be my sister’s best friend. So cute, right? Ya, the four of us are totally f*cking adorable, you’d love us. I mean, you wouldn’t survive Shannon, Dana, or me, but Lauren would be nice to you so there’s that. 😉 Dana got married and had a small named Callie, and their younger brother Tim (who is in his thirties now and I’m still always tempted to be like, ‘aren’t you in the 8th grade? How are you married?’). Again, I have arrested development and I often project that on others. I’m working on it.
Aaaanyway… So I went to their summer house while they, too, were having a family reunion. I chased ’em all around. Here are some of my favorites.
Lauren, thank you for your trust and for even wanting me to photograph you guys. I feel like the crush might be turning a corner into a full blown relationship. I’m just sayin.
love. enjoy. thank you so much.
You can take a girl out of the East Coast and move her to a beautiful suburb of San Francisco to a dream life, but… sometimes she has to return for family reunions and such. 🙂 Erin is one of my oldest friends (we met in a blurry and debaucherous time in Australia while studying abroad in college) turned friend who values photography. Not much to not love there. Anyway, you get the picture. She’s from the East Coast, moved to SF, has lived there forever, and came back for her husband’s family reunion on Cape Cod. If you follow me you practically know her and her family by now. Lucky you.
Here are the other shoots from her family: Year One. Year Two. Year Two point five
Here’s a lil beach shoot:
Enjoy. Thank you. Love.
So, the Rowe family had a bad year. Specifically Kathy had a really bad year. One evening while watching a movie in bed with her husband she discovered a lump in her breast. The rest, as you know, is history. A scary, blurry, painful, ugly history. That was then, however, and this is now. So, here’s to new beginnings and family. The Rowe crew is amazingly gorgeous and kind and cool. Way down to earth, way way awesome.
Here’s what I saw…
YAAAY!! So so so fun to watch these guys grow. My first shoot with the Swanbergs was for Graham and Lily’s first birthday. The shoot is HERE.
Needless to say I was super psyched to be invited to head back to Cohasset and photograph them for their second birthday. We hit the beach, I chased ’em around, I’m more in love with this family than ever. Truly, truly kind and generous, loving and beautiful. They are four of the luckiest peeps I know. For truth.
Enjoy. Thank you. Love.
Jenn and John had a baby. His name is Jack. Jack is awesome for a lot of reasons, but mostly because he had no choice since his parents are sooooo nice and smart and wonderful and loyal and kind. I was lucky enough to photograph their wedding a few years ago so it’s an honor to watch ’em grow. Life rocks.
Their extended family was in town so the whole crew met me at Castle Island. What a joy.
Thank you guys, enjoy. love.
How cute are these two Smalls? Good lord. I chased them around their loft, they wore tutus, put together some puzzles, and then finally, thanks to a good bribe from Dad, they ate some candy.
Thank you. Enjoy.
Carolyn and Harry were back from England for a few weeks, and lucky for me I was able to photograph them. In the gorgeous 200 year old home Carolyn grew up in. Complete with a handmade Superman cape, a fascination with a clicker, and an antique desk. Twas a photographers dream, it was. Enjoy.
