WHOA!!!!!!! THIS was one killer experience!! First of all, I have to say that I LOVE IRELAND!!! If you know me, you know I’ve been all over the world, but I have to say… I’ve never been more proud to be an Irish girl from Boston after that trip. Loved every second. I accompanied the one and only painter, Flora Bowley, on this trip as she taught her amazing painting method. There were three other teachers at the retreat, Orly, Pauline, and Melinda. There were 40 very lucky students from around the world, all flowin’ and growin’ at the famous Bantry House in Bantry, Ireland. The Bantry House is a stately home built in the 1600s and sits on the harbor on THE most gorgeous grounds you can possibly imagine. It’s truly a portrait photographer’s dream. I photographed the women immersed in their work as well as private portraits around the grounds. It was SUCH an honor and a joy. I hope I remember it forever and ever, amen. THANK YOU.
Woop Woop. I was LUCKY enough to meet Susa Talan at the Squam Art Workshops weekend up in Holderness, NH in September. She taught a super sweet workshop called ‘This Precious Life’ and all her students *loved* it. Needless to say I was beyond honored when she asked me to come out to her home in Amherst and photograph her. Susa’s personal story is truly inspiring: on the eve of her 39th birthday she started drawing. She committed to making one drawing a day for 365 days. At the end of the year, now with a facebook page and a huge pile of adorable and inspiring drawings, Susa wondered what was next. Soon she found someone who fell in love with her work and wanted to make greeting cards and a calendar…then a book. Fast forward just a couple of years, Susa is an author and a successful and prolific illustrator. I am so inspired and proud of her, and I wouldn’t wish success on a sweeter, more humble soul. Susa is a gem and it is an honor to work with her. Here she is. Thank you. Love!
Hahahhaa… Allan and Sharon, the parents of Marcus and Ryan, are the chillest, funniest parents ever. Their sons were wholly uninterested in cooperating with the photo shoot, and Allan constantly apologized for not being one of the ‘nice families on your website’. Allllll we did was laugh at the reality of family life. It was an adorable, honest, authentic, Sunday morning at Allan and Sharon’s house. I loved every second. Thank you! GOOD LUCK!!
GAHHHH!! Eve is SO CUTE!! Little Eve was only a few days old when I met her. Shannon and Aldo are already great, chill, cool, hilarious parents and Eve is one of the luckiest girls in the world. Take a peek! Yay!! LOVE! GOOD LUCK!!
I was lucky enough to meet Lauren and Chris at their friend’s wedding when I snapped a photo of Chris hopping into the air like a frog on the dance floor. The rest is history. We photographed their engagement shoot, then their wedding. As their family grew they have asked me to photograph them time and time again, and it has been a real honor. Because they’re hilarious, the shoot usually turns into a photo shoot mixed with uproarious laughter and a great friendship. I love them very much. They have two gorgeous sons, Luke and Sam. I love them, too. They got Lauren’s eyes, though, so I won’t be the last chick who loves ’em. 🙂 We went to the beach in August at sunset. Rockin. Thank you. Love.
